Shaded Explorer

between the blue

Shaded Explorer lives in a place where the music is hidden behind a dense fog and dreams are suffocated by an unpromising reality. This stimulates him to continue his research of magical places around the world, being them ethereal landscapes, deep cenotes or blue seas. In those places he discovered and created new sounds, melodies and rhythms that melted together create soundscapes for escape.

"This is an amazing album, perfectly fitting into the roster of Silent Season. Very detailed and profound soundscapes varying from Deep Techno to Ambient. Overall an outstanding experience and another proof how talented Emanuele Pertoldi is! Thanks to Jamie bringing this to live in a lovely designed package! Artwork is outstanding."

The album has a very ambient, organic feel, sounding very much rooted in nature, is this a key influence for you?

Yes nature became more and more an influence in my music, especially for the Shaded Explorer project. Then I try to make my music sound organic with field recordings I do and with hardware machines. The tracks of the album are mostly done live in one take. This helps too, giving them an organic and alive feel. I like when people feels there are the human touch and also mistakes behind my music.
